The suggested film ratings are based on the guidelines of the British Board of Film Classification website (www.bbfc.co.uk).
Seats are free and are on a first come, first served basis.
Saturday 21st June 10 – 11am
Torn Directed and edited by Luke Bradford of Frogspawn Film. Young Elizabeth, daughter of shamed Anne Boleyn, is cast aside from King Henry VIII and his court. She must stumble through life, publicly shamed, without friends or childhood companions. At some point, Elizabeth must choose: shy away or embrace her potential? (Cert. U. Brief reference to violence).
Broken Beats Written, directed and produced by Sean Ramsden. An amateur rock band must prepare for a major music tournament, but with time running out, it may all become too much for their lead singer Sadie. (Cert. U).
Two Minutes. Written and directed by Jamie Benyon (previously from Redhill). With Annette Badland, Samuel Bottomley, Ashley Margolis. Two brothers rob a corner shop only to be interrupted by their nan. (Cert 12A. Brief bad language).
In the Corner. A moving, sometimes eery, story about mental health issues. Produced by class of 2024 Reigate College Film Studies student Elliot O’Gorman. (Cert 12A mild threat. Some strong language).

Playing us into the second half of today’s films will be D&A Films’ beautiful short film about the classic car from the 1960’s and 70’s the Jensen Interceptor.
Wired When Becca loses her partner and job she retreats into her apartment, pouring her heart out to her only companion: MAIA, her AI wellbeing Smart Hub. But as she begins to turn her life around and prepares to leave the flat to re-join society, it seems MAIA has other plans. An exciting sci-fi thriller by Lee Mancini of Agility Films and Will Jewell from Fractured Films. (Cert. 12A. Some strong language and violence).
Radio Island When an awkward radio enthusiast receives an unexpected communication, he must choose between connection and isolation. Co written and directed by Paolo Valenti. (Cert. 12A).
Out of Sight, Out of Mind. We are delighted to welcome another short film especially produced for the Reigate Film Festival by Reigate College Film Studies student Anne Madden. Psychological? Horror? Or just the pressures of revision? You decide. (Cert 12A. Brief bad language).
Brain Sweet Brain. Following the hugely popular ‘Why Am I a Stick?’ from last year’s festival, puppetry sister duo Kristina and Jenni Sinclair bring us another quirky, endearing tale. Sometimes your mental health needs a little spring clean. (Cert. U).
Drip Drip Drip. What if your daydream was better than real life? What if you didn't want to go back to reality? Fantasy short film written, directed and performed by Julia Quayle. (Cert. 12A).
Hot Mess. Stop frame animator Tortor Smith raised the money to produce their very own first short film at Aardman Animation studios in Bristol. A story that provides an insight into the issues faced by those with ADHD. Already in production on their second animation, Reigate Film Festival is delighted to welcome Tortor to hear all about Hot Mess and their next production: Stumbling Blocks. There will be an opportunity to ask questions. (Cert. 12A).
Sunday 22nd June 10 – 11am
Broken Bottles Billy is a twenty-year-old delinquent who's fallen into drunken ways. He is kicked out of home by his mother and encounters Bill, a forty-year-old ex-navy veteran. They bond over their drunken antics, but as the day progresses, a secret soon reveals itself. Written by Reigate College class of 2019 Katie Morris, who has just graduated from Portsmouth University. Directed by Harrison Thomas. (Cert.12A. Strong Language. Some violence).
Freedom Written and directed by class of 2024 Film Studies student, Leo Burton. A moving short film that won Lee the best film in his cohort at Reigate College. (Cert 12A).
Dead Weight Written and directed by Drew McConnell, class of 2024 Film Studies student at Reigate College. Drew is now studying Film at university. A psychological thriller with scenes that some viewers may find upsetting (Cert.12A. Some strong language and inferred violence).
Last Night Written and directed by Oliver Phillips, class of 2024 Film Studies student at Reigate College. A crime drama in reverse. (Cert. 15. Some references to drug taking and suicide).
Imbroglio A tale of intrigue and betrayal that pays homage to the golden age of 1950’s film noir. Shot on 35mm film in Italy and London by local writer/director Ian Sciacaluga. Giorgio, played by Paolo Maria Scalondro, attempts to unravel the shocking truth of his wife’s affair. (Cert.12A. Some strong language and violence).
Bagged Written and directed by Arun Myers, class of 2024 Film Studies student of Reigate College. When David and Malcolm get kidnapped a whole host of past personal issues are unearthed. Comedy. (Cert.12A. Some strong language ).
Loveworks A short film made by Reigate College Film and Media students: Tom Owen-Range and Nyle Ali. Loveworks is a local charity that provides emergency food provision (food banks), preventing the recurrence of food poverty in our community. It is one of the three charities that Reigate Summer Festival support. Any donation you feel you can spare will be gratefully received.

Battle in Waterloo Inspired by real events, an historic action romance staring Jessie Buckley, Sophia Brown and Alistair Petrie. Written and directed by Emma Moffat. While the battle rages all around, a soldier's wife searches for her missing husband in the nearby forest and must resort to extraordinary measures to survive. Thank you to producer Anna Hargreaves for allowing us to screen this beautiful poignant film. (Cert.12A. Some violence).
SexEd A sex education lesson in school becomes eruptive for all the wrong reasons. Written and directed by Alice Seabright. Thanks again to producer Anna Hargreaves for submitting this hard hitting comedy. (Cert 12A. Some strong language and references to sex, as the title suggests).
Exoskeleton Filmmaker Will Krumpton’s final year film at Manchester Metropolitan University, explores the creative process of local fashion designer Amelia Wilkie. You can also see some of Amelia’s work at the fashion show this weekend at The Ivory Lounge Saturday 21st June.
A Working Man A surrealist short film made for the festival by Film Studies student Zak Barber, starring Oscar Aldred. This very short films takes inspiration from the work of Salvador Dali and Luis Buñuel. (Cert. U).
Dave McKean We are delighted to welcome artist, illustrator, writer, director and musician Dave McKean. As an illustrator he is known for graphic novels such as Batman and numerous books such as S F Said’s Varjak Paw and more recently Tyger. As a filmmaker of fantasy dramas such as Mirrormask and Luna, he has also designed video games, founded his own music label, written and performed in theatres that include the Sydney Opera House. A long term supporter of Adam’s Gallery in Reigate, Dave will introduce some of his short films and there will be an opportunity to ask him questions, time permitting. He will also be signing some of the books he has published and illustrated in Waterstones in Bell Street from 1pm.
