Saturday 20th June

Lizzie
Directed and edited by Paul Macauley of Hello Strawberry Films. Lizzie spends a hopeful seaside summer in Brighton, confronting identity, belonging and disappointment in a playful, heartfelt comedy-drama about self-expression. (Cert. U).
The Goblin
Written, directed and produced by Jack Mitchell, Reigate College Film student class of 2025. Fantasy comedy. Some younger children may find this upsetting ... and adults that remember The Singing Ringing Tree also!! (Cert. U).
Pink Walls
Produced by Reigate College Film student class of 2024, Josie Davie. A girl moves into a new home, but while trying to decorate, the room begins to break and change. 2-D stop motion animation. Contains some flashing lights (Cert. PG).
Wormholes
When an introverted cosmology student is reluctantly drawn into conversation by a vivacious late-night cleaner he discovers a universe far bigger than quantum mechanics. Directed by Vanessa Bailey for Nine Yard Films. (Cert. PG. Themes of anxiety).
Authority
Another highly creative production from Reigate College Film student class of 2024, Josie Davie. Three instances of people with authority, but by the evening they all find themselves in the same position. Stop motion animation. (Cert.PG).
Buried
When you wake up after a long sleep the world looks very different. Emma Matthews Reigate College Film student, class of 2025. (Cert.12A Brief strong language).
Sleepover
We are delighted that local producer Anna Hargreaves has submitted another powerful film, this one written and directed by Tommy Edwards for BBC Films. 9 year old Marla is having her first sleepover with her best friend Lola. And even better, despite Nan's reservations, it’s at her fun-loving Dad's house. But amidst the freedom and play, she finds something that changes the course of the sleepover and her relationship with her beloved, but complicated Dad forever (Cert. 15. Some strong language and themes associated with drug taking).
HomeStart East Surrey
A short film made by Reigate College Film and Media Students: Spencer Boys and Ewelina Filus. HomeStart is a charity that helps families going through difficult times: bereavement, illness or disability of the child or the parent, post-natal depression or stress in coping with a number of young children. Empty Tomorrow
Adam seeks refuge in the UK to make a new life for himself. But, changing immigration laws threatens all that he has built. Written by Reigate College Film student class of 2025, now studying film at Ravensbourne University, Megan Sellwood (Cert. 12A).
The Reichenbach Fall
Struggling in a dystopian future where all music is banned. Produced by Torin Green, class of 2025 Film student, Reigate College. (Cert. 12A).
Risk
As Sara trains intensively for the biggest MMA bout of her life, she faces stiff resistance from her friends and family. Risk has travelled international film festivals picking up 7 wins and 18 nominations for best film. Written and directed by Luke Bradford of Frogspawn Film. (Cert 12A).
Get Out
Following the hugely popular ‘Why Am I A Stick?’ and ‘Brain Sweet Brain’, puppetry sister duo Kristina and Jenni Sinclair, along with Alice Smith, bring us another quirky, creative tale. (Cert. 12A. Supernatural themes that some younger viewers may find disturbing. Some puppet gore!)
We Need To Talk
What happens when you're the only one still in love? Married couple Tom and Claire attend a counselling session in an effort to navigate their dysfunctional relationship. Written and produced by Vanessa Bailey for Nine Yards Films. (Cert. 12A).
Overtones
After her husband's death, a mother struggles to connect with her son, who has retreated into his music … until she discovers it is not an escape, but a way back to him … and to herself. Written and directed by Ollie Gardner. (Cert.PG).
It’s Not That Deep
Whilst preparing for an important meeting, Darya grows increasingly apprehensive. Produced by class of 2025 Reigate College Film student Maya Lawrence. (Cert.U).
Oh Two For You
Penny goes for a much needed walk in nature, to get away from the city and enjoy some delicious, fresh air. We soon learn, Delilah has other plans for Penny... Written and directed by Phoebe Marie Jones. (Cert.PG - themes of capitalism!)
Fairtrade Reigate
After attending last year’s film festival, Fairtrade Reigate have waited patiently for this film that highlights the hard work locally they do in raising awareness of the need to buy ethically sourced products. Produced by students: Dexter Skinner, Oliver Blogg, Anne Madden, Ash Bleach and Will Tobitt of the Film and Media Department at Reigate College. (Cert. U). Followed by a few words from Fairtrade Reigate Chair Ruth Ritter.

Record
Whilst looking after her beloved grandfather, Felicity stumbles upon information that changes her perspective of him forever. Produced by class of 2025 Reigate College Film student Emily Mackenzie. (Cert.PG).
White Gold
An Oscar longlisted short film based on real life events. Mansa, an African woman with albinism has had her arm hacked off by Natron the witch doctor in the name of witchcraft. Robbed of her security, career and dignity, Mansa now hunts Natron in a bid to confront him and seek her revenge. Written and directed by Luke Bradford of Frogspawn Film. (Cert.15 Some threat and violence).
The Window Seat
To help herself grieve, a girl visits the same cafe over and over. Written and directed by Matthew Bearne. (Cert.PG).
The Healer
A troubled teenager goes off the rails after the sudden death of his Dad. Beaten down by endless counselling waiting lists, his desperate Mum pushes him into equine-assisted therapy where he initially lashes out at everyone. But just as he seems to be finally finding some calm, unfinished business from his past returns to potentially de-rail everything. Staring BAFTA winner Ariyon Bakare. Directed by William Jewell. Produced by Lee Mancini of Agility Films. The Healer was filmed locally in Redhill, Reigate and Dormansland. (Cert. 12A. Some strong language and some distressing content).

The work of artist Tina Harf
D & A Films have been a regular contributor to the Reigate Film Festival. This year they have submitted a series of short films that showcase the vibrant artist, painter, sculptor Tina Harf. (Cert. U).
Full House
A short horror comedy about bingo rivalry. A first year film from directors Archie Power and Alex Antchev studying filmmaking at MetFilm, part of the BIMM University Group. (15 Cert. Gore and violence that some viewers of a sensitive nature may find distressing. Not one to watch whilst eating!).
Fridge
A hyper-critical smart fridge fat shames her owner. Dark comedy by writer / director Sam Lucas Smith. (Cert.12A. Some brief strong language).
Perdita
A moving film about loss. Class of 2025 Film Studies student Flora Woods plans to study Film and Screen Studies from September. This film made her Film Studies teacher cry! (Cert.12A).
Deus Ex Machina
Psychological horror inspired by Euripides' 'The Bacchae', about a young girl's experience with a demented acting troupe. Directed by Matthew Bearne. Submitted by Director of Photography and class of 2025 Film student at Reigate College: Dylan Parker. Dylan plans to study at MetFilm from September. (Cert.12A. Some threat).
The Witchery
After losing their way, two young men find themselves in a wood with a mysterious deserted house … eat your heart out The Blaire Witch Project! Produced by class of 2025 Film student at Reigate College Jake Rochester. (Cert. 12A Some strong language).
Typed Out
A cancer survivor battles exhaustion and fear as she struggles to balance work and rest, terrified her illness will return. Produced by film students on the National Film and Television School (NTFS) Academy. Directed by Mistee O'Connor-Bromwell. Submitted by Producer Zoe La'Bonne, class of 2026 Film student at Reigate College. (Cert. PG).
Unmasked – The Face I Found
A powerful documentary, still in production, that explores the life of a former Royal Marine whose world changed forever after sustaining devastating injuries while serving in Afghanistan twenty years ago. A chance to meet local filmmaker Lee Mancini and hear his process of bringing this story to the screen.
